Frequently Asked Questions
What is Albatross Index?
Albatross Index catalogs short-form clips and claims that misrepresent events or statements, pairing them with full-context explanations and rebuttal sources. It’s a lean, link-only index built for clarity and verification.
How do I submit?
Use the Contribute page to submit a misleading clip, video, or claim. Some submissions may already include both the misleading content and a correct explanation or fact-check within the same post — that’s fine. You can also include one or more rebuttal or full-context URLs. These may be articles, videos, or posts that clarify or correct the record, giving readers the full context behind what’s shown.
How are items ranked?
Rankings are determined by a weighted vote system. Verified users and trusted accounts have more voting influence, while older items gradually lose weight to ensure recent posts remain visible. The core logic is explained in the Developer FAQ.
Why are downvotes private?
Privacy reduces brigading and mob-swings. Totals are visible, but individual downvote counts remain hidden.
Do you host videos?
No. We only link to external sources to avoid copyright and platform issues. Prefer original or archival mirrors to prevent link rot.
